Hello all

How did Christmas day go then?

We have done pretty well here! I'm still in bed at 11 am on boxing day having said that but this is the run down here:

0600 bernice and Michael in our bed with stockings!
They loved their things in there

Bernice most interested that father Christmas has drunk his drink but left some mince pie crumbs! Rudolf ate some carrot and ever a 4 yr old needed proof the sooted finger finger prints on the glass have clinched it...

We did under tree presents after the family tradition of anything you like for breakfast.
Bernice got a lovely dancing mickey as her main thing
Michael got his phone
I got a fab sewing box some obsession and a dab radio alarm
Richard got a coat, a new light and a David beckham smelly

Highlights include the vicar giving up on the sermon and dancing with bernice and mickey mouse

Every one playing with the 'elefun' that bernie got from my sister
Gemma managing to speak to everyone on the phone

We got home at about 8 from mums and I did go to bed and slept- even better- bernice slept!
Michaels got an aquarium and has spent all morning setting it up...

Everyone coming here for tea tonight.
I did paint my nails festive red to make me feel better about their claw like appearance
How are things your end?

Had a lovely day - despite uncertainty as to whether we would see our little family due to George having had "the bug". However, 48 hours later no-one else had come down with it so off we went!

Woken up with a VERY hot cup of coffee - courtesy of a wonderful new gadget - A steam and tea no less and how amazing is it?!
It's a super-douper new fangled kettle thingy which dispenses just the right amount of water, by button, and poorly fingers don't even have to hold the cup under the nozzle! Wonderful - thank you thank you!

Had beautiful black and silver top, 2 scarves, a pashmina, loads of fab jewellery, lovely flowers and a bottle of wine, plus smellies, lovely hair stuff and prized above all else - a picture painted by the grandchildren!

Dinner was so much better as Lucy had cooked it!

Home about 9.00pm shattered but very happy.

This morning I couldn't stand the messd in the kitchen any longer so set too and cleaned it from top to bottom. I normally don't do "cleaning" so you can guess how bad it was!! Shattered again, but very smug and self-satisfied!!

Love to you all

It has been a wonderful two days.ThumpUp All the family round yesterday and today. Everybody, safe and well and happy. Stacks of presents to open. I got a breadmaker. two jackets, a kindle, a video camcorder, books, cooking stuff, games, crafting stuff etc. Absolutely spoiled rotten. We have also had Dylan (Ben's dog), Loki (Joe's rat) who is staying until after new year and on wednesday we have Cocoa and Crunch (neighbours' gerbils) for a week. I am beginning to feel Kate Humble.Smile I have just sneaked away for a quiet few minutes to see who is posting. I am exhausted but very content, although my wrist has started to play up. I hope it isn't the start of something but maybe I have just been carrying too much, time will tell. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that Santa was good to you.

Phew - this is my favourite day of the year after 2 days feeding 9! Felt dreadful but after 4 days of antibiotics I think I might be feeling a bit better ... fingers crossed. I am still very dizzy though - not sure if it is from last week's infusion still?

Anyway - the best present of all - a star covered furry slanket, from which I am writing this in bed! And an original painting of the fishermen's cottages on the shore at Silverdale, where we will move when I win the Lottery! I saved a bday pres from earlier in the month as a treat for today - delicious velvet trimmed slinky jamas, and I'm staying in them all day today! Little Women and Great Expectations on TV later ..... bliss!

Happy continued celebrations to everyone xx Ailsa

PS Jenni - might get Susie to do my nails as she has a kit of every colour. She has decided today is the day we look online at Prom dresses too as it is 'nearly next year'!

Ooooooo I do like the sound of the bread maker and kindle! I do think I'd like a bread maker I like the panasonic ones I do have debenhams and
Marks and sparks vouchers so will check them out

Wonder if bread maker might not get much use and lurk at the back of the cupboard with the fat fryer and yoghurt makers of Christmas past....!!!!

But really like the idea.
Richard has a kindle
I might ask for one for my birthday at end of Jan- I will be 36 you know (that is seriously grown up eh?!)

It went really wellThumpUp Really glad it did for you too.

After weeks of planning and lists galore, Christmas all came together somehow and it warmed my heart to have our little family of 10 all together round the table, since two sons now live abroad. Being together felt so very special.

Hard bit is saying goodbye again at the airportSad

Everyone seemed very happy with their presents, but my biggest presents were the hugs and kisses from our family and seeing everyone laughing together.

We are now hoping for the biggest gift of all as our daughter is now 36 weeks pregnant after several sad Christmases following miscarriages. Very excited, but also quite scared - she is still high risk.

96 yr old FIL went home today - couple of days to turn around the beds and order another load of food for the return of youngest son and family next week. The little girls sleep in our room (luckily great sleepers) and I feel so privileged to spend this time with them.

Will still be completely cream-crackered by the end of these 3 Christmas weeks though!

My thoughts are with all those for whom Christmas was not such a happy time, especially the recently bereaved.
Thinking of dear Gwenda's family this year too.

Take care everyone and a Peaceful, Happy, 'Healthy' New Year to you all,
Love Lizxx

Jenni - My breadmaker is a Panasonic. I have had bread made by other breadmakers and not liked it. Apparently Panasonic is the best so I asked for that one and it is seriously good. Get one, you won't regret it. It takes seconds to put ingredients in and switch on and seconds to clean. Easiest and best thing ever.

Liz! I am over joyed to read about your daughter and know so well that crushing sadness of loss at times of family especially, I know your daughters struggles have been far worse on that front than mine and can you just tell her that Im delighted for her.

I was "high risk" all the way through. All the way. Bernice is now 4...!ThumpUp BigGrin

im going to look at that panasonic idea sheila. I have to have white bread now because of the colitis and would like some "goodness" in it.

Hi everyone, our Christmas was lovely too, I was given a kindle, perfume, smelly sets, a new purse and two scarves. Had a family day on Christmas day with my son and my sister and nephew here, my other daughter and other son were with the in laws this year. Boxing day was more relaxing, took it fairly easy. It all goes too fast BigGrin

Sorry for the late reply to this thread. I am sitting here at the laptop with a glass of bubbly !!We are making our New Years Day special as Ian was working over xmas.

My christmas day was very quiet as Ian was working. So I spent it with my MIL and brother in law & his family who travelled down from the Midlands.

Boxing day was much the same.

We spent Friday at my parents in Reading - my Dad has recently come out of hospital (RA flare up) and is looking much better.

I also received a kindle - although I did receive it early - October to be fair - bought in duty free at Gatwick on our way on Tunisia. - Love it; so much easier to carry a kindle in my bag rather than a paperback.

Jenni - I also painted my nails red - OPI red and brushed gold shatter varnish over them as a top coat.

So as I am justing finishing off my bubbly I wish everybody a happy and healthy (hopefully) New Year
